logo
Since the owner of the company had already decided on a color palette for the company, I wanted to start by creating a logo. Something with stark angles and movement was important to create a dynamic and engaging feel. I also wanted to have some semblance of a drone in the logo since aerial footage is a huge selling point of the company. I began with doing sketches, narrowed it down to the ones the client and I liked the best, and vectorized them in Illustrator.
logo Type
I wanted to make a nice line of clean, readable, and sophisticated text for the company that could be used for letterheads, web headers, and promotional pieces. After doing a series of type tests, I decided on Futura medium as the logo type. It is clean enough to convey a sense of professionalism while stark enough to be bold and engaging.
WEBSITE
For Hill + Valley, I didn’t need to establish or code a site. The owner of the company already had a Squarespace site up and running, but I thought it would be good to have something original in the site that was created with the content in mind. I decided on making icons for the different sections of the site that visitors could interact with.
Promotional
After having larger design pieces done for the company, I wanted to make something that would get the word out about Hill + Valley to current clients as well as potential clients. I decided on a promotional brochure that could be sent in the mail that tells people some significant things that the company offers.
Photography
Along with design, I took some on-site documentation of shoots that the company was hired to do. It’s important for a production company to have behind-the-scenes footage of what they do to show clients what they’re capable of.
